In December 2019, I went on a trip to Japan with my mother. There are many different gacha machines scatter around the streets of Tokyo, which is how I recieved this mini figurine. The figurine is of a Mew from one of my favorite games, Pokémon. I was super happy to get this specific one because out of all the different figures that came from the machine, this is the one that I wanted to get the most. I like art and drawing a lot so naturally the paint Mew would be my favorite. I thought the crystalize filter would go well with Mew because it fits in with its mythical theme.
Growing up, my mother would always make these tiny cranes and hang them inside of ornaments. I was always left impressed with how every crane she made perfect in every way. Unfortunately, it appeared that I did not carry these same genes. She tried to teach me how to make them, but I would always get stumped on the part where it folds in on itself to create a kite shape. The head would always come out crooked and the wings would be wrinkled and asymmetrical. However, now that I am older, I am much better at origami and am capable of making a crane as small as a dime.
Pears are currently one of my favorite foods. Every morning that I don't have school, I wake up and eat a couple of pears. However, if a pear goes past a certain ripeness, I would view it as one of the most putrid foods in the word. I cannot stand soggy and soft fruits or vegetables. Luckily, this pear was nice and ripe. I used the mosaic filter because it reminded me of the golden apple from Minecraft.
Washi tape is one of my most favorite art supplies that I use. It has a large variety of different uses such as masking tape, sealing off envelopes, embellishing a drawing, or blocking out bled through ink. I also think that washi tape is just aesthetically pleasing to look at. There is a wide variety of colors and patterns that I had a fun time picking to photograph. I had a really fun time trying to find a cool layout for these tapes.
I made this cow bracelet last year and it was the first alpha bracelet I had ever made. During the creation of this bracelet, I went through a lot of trial and error and messed up multiple times, most notably the "loop" on the left end of the bracelet. Despite its imperfections, it still holds to be my most favorite bracelet I have ever made. It depicts a mooshroom from one of my favorite games, Minecraft. Its sentiment is even more increased because my friend shares a matching frog bracelet.
